Niúláng shì yí ge niánqīng rén.

Niulang was a young man.

Tā yǒu yì tóu lǎo niú.

He had an old ox.

织女是天上的女子。

Zhīnǚ shì tiān shàng de nǚzǐ.

Zhinü was a woman from the sky.

She could make beautiful clothes.

Niúláng hé Zhīnǚ xiāng'ài le.

Niulang and Zhinü fell in love.

Later, a heavenly river was between them.

Niulang was on this side of the river, and Zhinü was on that side.

Měi nián qī yuè qī rì, tāmen kěyǐ jiànmiàn.

Every year on the seventh day of the seventh month, they can meet.

人们看星星,想他们的故事。

Rénmen kàn xīngxing, xiǎng tāmen de gùshi.

People look at the stars and think of their story.
